On Go each player says "Tillikum". On Tilli, hands are raised slowly to shoulder. On the third syllable "Kum", they are brought to waist level and fingers are in one of three positions. Fingers straight out together and palm facing down is Earth. Fingers together and pointed downward is Water. Fingers facing upward toward sky and fingers slightly apart is Fire. Earth drinks the Water and wins. Water puts out the Fire and wins. Fire scorches the Earth and wins. A tie means play is void and players begin again. If teams compete each stands 1 pace from the line on their side. Team captains generally decide which symbol is to be used each time. Then the player competes with that sign he is given.
